Miniature Tintypes - Fall 2018
The tintype process is an image making processes first introduced in the 1850s. It is a process combining chemicals under red or amber light, coating iron or aluminum plates, sensitizing them, and exposing the plate in-camera while still wet. We will address the various techniques in coating these miniature plates, the chemicals needed, and the simple art of still lives and portraits using natural and/or artificial light sources.
