This home is a quiet place. What was once a well cared for landscape, has slowly fallen into a state of decay. Age and time has crept up on its owner. These spaces absent of the human condition are evident in their leavings. What I capture here is visual testimony. The preservation of a timeless interior coupled with the the physical effects of a once flourishing exterior, now mouldering, from neglect. What I explore in this work is an evidence of disintegration of habitat, the effects of time, and an echo of presence, however faint.
In Passing recounts the last days my father spent on this earth, before succumbing to cancer. The approaching decline in his health, death, the stillness he left behind, and an overwhelming absence of presence.

Photon Entanglement: or Formative Action at a Distance
Photon Entanglement: or Formative Action at a Distance is a documentation of the objects from my childhood growing up with a brilliant scientist for a father. Using an early photographic process called tintype, I hand pour collodion onto metal plates, infuse them with light sensitive chemicals, and imprint upon these plates the objects my father would use to imprint upon my character a scientific curiosity filled with vigor. These experiences fostered a fascination with mixtures and an interest in light, chemistry, and photography.
The title is a play on words to a scientific principal called Spooky Action at a Distance and the greater idea of quantum entanglement in which an object can be moved, changed, or otherwise affected without being physically touched by another object. The experiments of my youth had a profound effect on me as an adult, and thus my father had, and continues to have an affect on me. Moving and changing the course of my life, at a distance.
Widowed explores family, loss, loneliness, what remains of us when long held bonds are broken or torn away, the threat of declining physical and mental health and the endeavor to recover the self.
#OccupyWallStreet came about through my experiences in New York City and my observations of the active efforts of those who wished to see divergence from the status quo. The #OccupyWallStreet movement was an aggregate effort to push forward the progressive consciousness of the “99%” and affect change. This is a part and parcel of their collective story.
